PHOENIX — If you're in need of lunch or dinner plans on Friday, you may want to stop by Smashburger.

The Colorado-based fast-food chain is marking 12 years in business with a one-day promotion on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019 (that is tomorrow) . Diners can get a "double Smashburger" for $0.12 with the purchase of another at regular price ($6.99, according to online menus).

The deal is good at "participating restaurants" and only valid on beef burgers; protein substitutions are excluded from the promotion, according to the fine-print on Smashburger's website. It cannot be combined with any other promotion or discount.

“Smashburger has grown into one of the leading burger restaurants in the world thanks to our incredible fans,” said Scott Johnson, vice president of marketing for Smashburger, in a statement. “We want to show our appreciation by offering our loyal fans a sizzling deal on their favorite burger and encourage new fans to discover the famous Smashburger flavor.”

There are 28 restaurants in Arizona, according to an online map.
