Arizona State University students and Tempe residents will have two more places to hang out in downtown Tempe this fall.
That's because Reign Group, a Texas-based hospitality company, is bringing two of its bar concepts to Mill Avenue.
Varsity Tavern, a high-energy sports bar and restaurant, will open where the Hooters restaurant used to be near 5th Street and Mill Avenue. Hooters closed in 2015.
Rodeo Ranch, a western-themed bar with a mechanical bull, will open where Gringo Star Street Bar was. Gringo Star closed in January.
Rodeo Ranch is expected to open in August and Varsity Tavern is slated to open shortly after, according to a news release.
Rodeo Ranch is looking to hire management, bartenders, bar backs, security, DJs and promoters before it opens. A hiring fair will be held July 15 & 16 at Low Key Piano Bar, 501 S. Mill Avenue, from noon to 6 p.m.
