MESA, AZ — The Revelry, a large indoor-outdoor entertainment venue home to virtual shooting lounges, tech-driven putting greens, a retro-inspired arcade, and a sports bar and grill, is now open at Mesa Riverview.

It is a new concept from Scottsdale, Arizona-based That's Eatertainment, which owns Modern Round in Peoria, and is in the process of acquiring Crust Simply Italian and The Ostrich cocktail bar, as well as a not-yet-open breakfast concept.

The 64,000-square-foot venue is located near Bass Pro Shops and encompasses two strip mall-like buildings that are linked by a 20,000-square-foot open-air pavilion that's home to a tiki bar, an outdoor stage, and a large fire pit.

"We created The Revelry to be an entertainment destination. We wanted to create a place where people could go and have fun, laugh with their friends, be entertained and have multiple concepts under one roof," said Ellie Greene, vice president of sales and marketing at That's Eatertainment, in an interview with ABC15.

The first phase opened less than two weeks ago. The second phase, which includes a brewery, dog park, and a food hall, is expected to open in the spring of 2021, Greene said.

Here is what is open now -- and what will open in the second phase.

Modern Round

Modern Round is a virtual shooting concept and restaurant where people can shoot replica firearms at a projection screen. There are different games and scenarios people can choose, from target practice, to skills-based games, to puzzles and zombies, to simulated shoot-don't shoot scenarios. They also serve food, beer, wine, and cocktails.

Members can make reservations online or people can walk up and see what times are available. The cost is $25 an hour during the week and $30 an hour on weekends.

Modern Round opened its first location in 2016 within Peoria's P83 entertainment district.

Box Bar Sports & Brews

Box Bar is The Revelry's sports bar and restaurant that is connected to Modern Round. There is a large wrap-around bar with seats, high tops, and tables. It also features VIP lounges similar to the ones at Modern Round, where people can play the various shooting games or can rent one and watch a football, basketball, hockey, or baseball games.

The menu features shareable appetizers, such as sliders, poutine, and tacos, nearly a dozen burgers and sandwiches, as well as pizza. Being a bar, they also have beer, cocktails, and wine.

The VIP lounges can be rented for $25 per hour during the week or $30 per hour during the weekend. However, as part of their opening special, they are not charging for the VIP lounges through Nov. 13.

PopCulture

PopCulture is The Revelry's arcade and bar. It features classic arcade games from the 70s, 80s, and 90s, including Ms. Pac Man, Rampage, Popeye, Galaga, a pinball machine, and a couple of racing games. It also has a full-service bar and a few flat-screen TVs. PopCulture is connected to Box Bar and opens in the early evenings.

NextLinks

NextLinks is a golf simulation game that focuses on putting. There are concert-style lights above the greens that tell players where to put their ball and which holes to aim for. Each green has multiple holes and slopes. Other games include shuffleboard and target practice.

Like Modern Round, members can make reservations online or people can walk up and see what times are available. The cost is $25 an hour during the week and $30 an hour on weekends.

The Courtyard

While not officially referred to as "The Courtyard," beneath the canopy is where NextLinks is, along with an outdoor tiki bar with slushies, beer, and cocktails, an outdoor fire pit with seating nearby, and an outdoor stage and an LED screen.

WHAT'S COMING IN PHASE TWO?

Across the courtyard is another building, which will be home to a brewery, a food hall with a half-dozen businesses, a cocktail bar, and a dog park and dog-friendly bar.

Not too many details have been released about the second phase, but we do know the names of the concepts that are planned and when the second phase is expected to be open. Greene said the second phase is slated to open in spring 2021.

Rev. Brewing Co.

Rev. Brewing Co. will be part of phase two and will be located nearest to Bass Pro Shops.

According to The Revelry's website, it will have 48 craft beers available.

Food Hall

At the food hall, there will be six different concepts from healthy foods to comfort foods to desserts. It will be cafeteria-style where people each concept will have a walk-up counter where people can order, pay, and then eat inside or eat outside in the courtyard.

The food hall will be home to Crust Simply Italian, an Italian restaurant and pizzeria in the Valley, Calavera Tacos, a taco shop, Hunter and Hen, an American grille, The Ritual, a dessert and coffee bar that we're told will have spiked milkshakes, and Herb & Vine Green Kitchen, a health-focused eatery.

The Ostrich

The Ostrich, a well-known cocktail bar in downtown Chandler, will also open a location at The Revelry, its third location in the Valley (a second is opening at Verde at Cooley Station in Gilbert).

In Chandler, The Ostrich is located in the basement of the San Marcos Hotel. At The Revelry, Greene said the speakeasy-inspired cocktail bar would be nearly three times larger, have a secret entrance, a rotating stage, and Las Vegas-inspired entertainment.

K9 Cantina

K9 Cantina will be an indoor-outdoor dog-friendly restaurant. It will be located on the opposite side of the complex, nearest The Brass Tap.

Greene said it would have an indoor and outdoor dog park, as well as food menus for both humans and their furry friends. Dogs are not allowed in the other areas of the complex, except for service animals.
