Valley chef closes 'Crudo' to open 'Bar Pesce'

Posted

Valley chef Cullen Campbell has closed his Italian restaurant and bar, Crudo, and opened Bar Pesce in its place.

The new menu is said to bring "new twists" on the signatures dishes Crudo was known for with dishes inspired by Japan, Vietnam and South America, according to a news release.

Sample dishes include:

  • Crab Mi Roll - lobster roe aioli, pickled vegetables and cilanto
  • Swordfish Belly crudo - leche de tigre, shallot, white olive oil
  • Steak Fiorentina - grilled beets and ponzu verde

"While we'll always be rooted in modern Italian, we'll now be bringing the best coastal cuisine from around the world to the heart of Phoenix," said Campbell in a written statement. By the way, "pesce" means "fish" in Italian.

The new restaurant was revamped with new lighting wallpaper, table settings and the addition of a wine cellar.

The hours will be Tuesday - Saturday, 5 p.m. - 10 p.m.
