In a first for the 72nd Emmy Awards, host Jimmy Kimmel took the stage and delivered his opening monologue to a handful of crew members, a few cardboard cutouts, one Jason Bateman, and a no live audience.
There was one political joke, a coronavirus joke, and a joke about Schitt's Creek's logo needing to appear on the screen so people didn't think Kimmel was swearing.
