A wink.
It's a small physical movement of the eye that somehow carries with it a powerful message--sometimes its a quick-witted gesture between friends after a joke, other times it's a way to flirt, and yet it also happens when a piece of the desert gets in the eye.
Fernanda Borletti thinks of it as a secret message between two people.
It's that connection and experience that led her to open a restaurant and name it after a wink--Wink 24 to be precise.
"Our menu is simple, relatable and meant to be shared--much like a simple wink," she said. The menu was inspired by her family's roots to Mexico and an ode to her husband's Italian roots.
Food items include paninis, wood-fired pizzas, cheese and meat boards, crostinis and salads. They will also serve cocktails and craft beer.
She wants it to be a part of the community.
"It is my desire that our guests understand our passion for supreme hospitality and delicious food is more than a business plan, it's a way of life," she said.
Wink 24 is located at Biltmore Fashion Park between Seasons 52 and Stingray Sushi.
