PHOENIX — According to an NBA insider, Phoenix Mercury star Diana Taurasi is among several NBA and WNBA players who will have “key roles” in the upcoming Space Jam 2 movie.
Details on her role, or if any of it was filmed in the Phoenix-area, have not been released.
Sources: Space Jam 2, starring LeBron James, is expected to feature key roles for Damian Lillard, Anthony Davis and Klay Thompson and WNBA stars Diana Taurasi and Nneka Ogwumike. Several more NBA and WNBA players, including Chiney Ogwumike, are expected to play roles in film.

Taurasi also had a cameo role in the 2006 movie “Believe in Me” where she played a youth basketball coach.
The release date for the movie is expected to be July 16, 2021.
