Officials have identified the driver who hit and killed a bicyclist in Gilbert.
The 17-year-old was arrested for leaving the scene of a deadly crash.
He has been booked into the MCSO Juvenile Detention Center.
The hit-and-run crash occurred near Higley and Ocotillo roads after 5 a.m. on Tuesday. A 73-year-old man, identified as Calvin Ray Sapp, was left dead at the scene.
Police were looking for a gold sedan with extensive damage. An off-duty Phoenix officer reportedly spotted a car matching the description, leading to an arrest.
Impairment does not appear to be a factor.
