WITTMANN, AZ — "Their A/C was out. It was 115 degrees that week. It was over 105 in their trailer."

It's a situation none of us wants to be in, but it's exactly what happened to Randy Sprau and his wife.

The air conditioner insider their Wittmann home broke down during one of Arizona's hottest weeks.

With no place to go, Randy and his wife cooled off at a nearby fire station. The firefighters ended up posting on social media, asking for help.

They found help, thanks to Darren Anglin.

"I was really surprised he would help us like that," explains Randy.

Out of the kindness of his heart, Darren tracked down a used A/C unit, and along with some donated parts, installed that unit.

Darren says it only cost the couple, "a smile and a handshake."

That was a big relief for this couple, who lives on a fixed income.

"You have to help your neighbors," says Darren."You can't leave an elderly couple like that."

Randy says before Darren came along, they were beginning to lose hope. "Everyone we ever talked to kept telling us, 'no, we can't help you.' And I was beginning to think there was no one out there that cared enough to help us, but he was," he said.
