MESA, AZ — Kristin Skiles is in charge of "The Giving Gang" at Imagine Schools East Mesa, a group that provides food, supplies, and uniforms to kids and families.
"We have taken out the stigma of needing things and make it more like the family closet," explains Skiles, a teacher at the school. "If I need more shampoo at home, I open up my closet and we want them to feel the same way."
From community meals, sending food home to students so they don't go hungry over the weekend, and also providing gently used uniforms, The Giving Gang really does it all.
"They can come in without fear or judgment," explains Skiles. "It's important while we're here on this earth to find things we can do for other people to make their lives a little better."
