PHOENIX — For Jamie Benfield with Rockstar Rescue in Phoenix, loving animals is just part of who she is.
"She cares more for these animals than she does her husband!" joked Russell Benfield, who is married to Jamie.
"Every time I leave my house," explains Jamie, "I feel like my radar is on. It's scoping the neighborhood, and it's scoping everywhere for something that needs help."
Since launching in 2010, Rockstar Rescue has re-homed more than 300 dogs, but it's not just man's best friend.
"We've had pigeons here. I've rescued rats. We have tortoises. We rescued a chicken from a coffee shop down the street!" Jamie said.
Jamie tries to save the animals that are the worst off, even the ones that are left for dead. But somehow, she is able to bring that sparkle back to their eyes.
"I think she's beautiful. She means everything to me but her love for animals is a seller and the reason I love her," says Russell.
