Ikea Is Hosting Free Teacher Appreciation Events

Posted
and last updated

Ikea is looking to say a big “Tack larare!” — “thank you” in Swedish — to teachers for all of their hard work by offering free events for teachers throughout the summer.

If you’re a teacher looking to take advantage of the free events, you’ll first have to become anIkea Family member. It’s free to join, and you’ll receive access to promotions and more after you sign up.

Once you’re an Ikea Family member, you’ll be able to RSVP for any of the free events going on at your local Ikea store.

The teacher appreciation events vary from store to store, so you’ll have to check out the location nearest you to find out about the fun activities Ikea has planned!

Certain stores, such as the Ikeas in Atlanta and Charlotte, will be hosting day-long events that give teachers the chance to network with fellow teachers, and learn how to use Ikea tools to organize their desks, utility carts and more. Teachers will also be able to enter drawings for gift cards and other prizes.

But the fun doesn’t stop there. Select locations, including the Ikea in St. Louis, Missouri, will also be hosting free events for teachers that involve getting crafty! Try your hand at creating a classroom bulletin board or decorating a plant pot and leaving with a newly potted succulent.

Some of the events are already full, but there’s still time to join the waitlists in case a spot becomes available!

Ikea’s not only treating teachers this summer season — it’s also hosting free events for kids and adults to enjoy. Adults can learn all about redesigning a kitchen and kids can head to Kids Kamp events, which are basically the Ikea versions of summer camp!

Stores such as Home Depot and Lowe’s also offer opportunities for parents and kids to get crafty together at no added cost. These free offerings allow kids to build, paint and use their imaginations, leaving the sessions with a new toy or piece of art.
