PHOENIX – The Transportation Security Administration held a contest to find the “Cutest K9” in honor of National Dog Day on Aug. 26, and Phoenix came out on top.
The contest opened voting to the public at 12 a.m. on Aug. 23 and closed after 24 hours. Voters were able to choose who they thought is the top-dog on a poll featured on TSA’s Instagram account.
There were four dog finalists to choose from- Muk from Austin–Bergstrom International Airport, Figor from Chicago Midway International Airport, Alfie from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, and Donna from St. Louis Lambert International Airport.
All of the dogs up for the title were inarguably adorable, but in the end, Alfie came out on top! How could anyone resist that face!
Send some love to our fellow Phoenix resident and thank him for his service.
All of the pups work at the airport security checkpoint and assist with TSA screening operations. Their main objective is to detect the scent of any explosive materials.
