The red rocks in Sedona. The views from Camelback. The history in Tombstone. Arizona ranks 12th on the list of road trip destinations in the U.S. according to a WalletHub study.
But it took into account a lot more than our attractions. It factored in both "fun and frugality". Road conditions and safety were also part of the equation.
Ranking 12 out of all of the 50 states is an achievement in itself, but Arizona shined when it came to reasonably-priced lodging. The state took the number one spot for cheapest three-star hotels. Our infrastructure is worth bragging about too. Arizona came in at number two for bridge quality.
Oregon, Nevada and Utah made up the top three road trip destinations.
