Mommy blogger makes extra cash selling on Facebook Marketplace

If you’re looking to make extra money for the holidays, you should consider selling items you don’t want on Facebook Marketplace. That’s what mommy blogger Diana Blinkhorn recommends.

She's sold more than 100 items she no longer wanted using Marketplace and says it's the site to be on during the holidays.

"It was just easier, it was user-friendly and was selling things quickly,” Blinkhorn says. “They were going for the price I was listing them for, which was really great."

The more she sold, the more she learned how to make the most money.

"Make sure that you do have that really high-quality photo, and make sure you are really descriptive in your listing and up-front with your buyer,” she suggests.

Facebook Marketplace has categories to help you target potential buyers. So whether you are buying or selling toys, or any item, it's easier for both buyers and sellers.

"Some of the most popular things I was able to get rid of were my kids’ toys," she says.

That’s why she recommends using Marketplace to buy toys this holiday season to get better deals.

"So last year, my daughter asked for a keyboard for Christmas, and I was a little bit hesitant on spending that much on something like that for her, so I browsed Facebook Marketplace, and I was able to find one for $20,” she says. “And it’s probably one of her most favorite gifts I’ve ever given her."

Blinkhorn says another perk is the ability for the buyer to negotiate a better price.
