Arizona is one of the top five states in the nation when it comes to gender equality, according to a new analysis by WalletHub.
The Grand Canyon State placed No. 5 overall in the report, which ranked states according to workplace environment (Arizona was No. 8), education and health (Arizona was No. 15), and political empowerment (Arizona was No. 5).
WalletHub pointed out that, for 2020, the U.S. dropped from 51st to 53rd in the World Economic Forum’s ranking of 153 countries based on gender equality.
The report said women hold only about 24 percent of legislative seats and 25 percent of Fortune 500 board seats in the nation, despite comprising more than 50 percent of the population.
