Arizona State University had its groundbreaking ceremony on March 2 for its new $118 million residence hall in downtown Phoenix.
The 283,000-square-foot building — the largest ASU development in downtown Phoenix — is expected to open in fall 2021.
Of the 16 stories, 13 will be dedicated to student housing, while the first three floors will offer academic space, including a business and arts incubator.
Developed by Capstone Development Partners, the project will accommodate about 530 graduate and upper-division undergraduate students.
Before this, the only residence hall ASU had in downtown Phoenix has been Taylor Place, which accommodates 1,284 students. ASU has 34 residential halls across its four ASU campuses.
