Banner Health has introduced new technology to allow virtual patient visits in Covid-19 units of all 28 of its hospitals and is in the process of launching the same technology in its emergency rooms.
The initiative comes through a collaboration between Banner, global telehealth company VeeMed and Intel Corp., which recently donated nearly 1,000 devices that enable patient room televisions to be used for two-way videoconferencing.
Intel’s donation is part of the Santa Clara, California-based company's $50 million Pandemic Response Technology Initiative focused on patient care, scientific research and online learning.
The company has a large presence in Chandler with about 11,000 workers in the region.
