Developer signs first tenant for downtown Phoenix building renovation

The historic Ellis Building is getting its first tenant, a indoor farming operation that also plans to open a restaurant on site.

Citifarms, an indoor vertical farm that grows leafy greens in a controlled environment, is the building's first tenant.

Clear Commercial Advisors is handling the office and retail leasing for the building.

Built in 1922, the 58,382-square-foot Ellis Building at the southeast corner of Second Avenue and Monroe Street was bought by Equus Development Corp for $2.25 million after it was put up for sale by the city of Phoenix.
