SCOTTSDALE, AZ — John V. Curry, a former college ice hockey player, had a 12,030-square-foot home built in 2020, complete with an ice hockey rink for his three sons who are also passionate about hockey.

Curry is selling the home because he moved his family to Denver. One of his sons is playing at a prestigious prep school program in Minnesota, Curry said, while the other two are playing at an academy in Denver. The travel back and forth became too much, Curry added.

With eight bedrooms and 8.5 bathrooms, the home at 18802 N. 97th Place, within the Arcadia area of Silverleaf in Scottsdale, is perfect for a family of sports lovers, said Kathleen Benoit of Russ Lyon Sotheby's International Realty Agents, who listed the property for $12.5 million.

During the colder months, skaters enjoy their own private rink, she said. But when the rink needs to be drained during the warmer seasons, the area can be transformed into a pickleball court, roller rink or sports court.
