Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey has named Daniel Ruiz chief operating officer of the state of Arizona.
Ruiz has worked on Ducey’s team since 2015, most recently serving as senior adviser to the governor.
He previously served as communications director and director of media affairs.
"Daniel Ruiz is a leader and a doer, and has earned the respect of stakeholders and other leaders throughout our state, both inside and outside of government,” Ducey said in a statement.
