Nestlé USA is laying off 85 employees at a Phoenix distribution center as part of a shift from a direct-store-delivery network to a warehouse model.
The Arlington, Virginia-based company, which is the U.S. subsidiary of the world's largest food and beverage company, revealed the planned layoffs at 3337 W. Wilshire Drive in an Aug. 16 filing with the state of Arizona.
The facility is listed online as a distributor of Dreyer's ice cream and DiGiorno pizza, and it's unclear whether it will remain open once the layoffs are complete.
SupplyChainDive reports that Nestlé filed multiple WARN notices Aug. 16 in at least five states: Kansas, Arizona, Colorado, Washington and Florida.
