The Phoenix metro ranked No. 15 in the nation in 2019 tech employment, with tech firms making a $25.8 billion impact on the local economy as the sector continued its growth trend both in the Valley and statewide, a new industry analysis shows.
Among states, Arizona ranked second in the nation for net new tech business establishments, bringing its total to 12,163, according to the Cyberstates 2020 report by global tech association CompTIA.
Arizona added 7,995 net new tech jobs, a 3.3% gain.
The Valley’s 5,551 net gain in tech jobs was a 3% increase over 2018, bringing its total to 190,726 jobs across 7,260 firms making up 8.5% of the workforce.
