Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport started the year off with strong growth in passenger counts during January, according to data released Friday by the city of Phoenix Aviation Department.
During the first month of 2020, the region’s primary airport reported 3,841,736 passengers flew into or out of Sky Harbor, up 4% from the same month in 2019.
January’s growth comes after Sky Harbor reporteda record year in passenger numbers during 2019.
Three of Sky Harbor’s four largest carriers – American Airlines Inc., Delta Air Lines Inc. and United Airlines Inc. – recorded an increase in total passengers compared with January 2019.
