TEMPE, AZ — The Valley’s latest Whole Foods Market Inc.store opened in Tempe Wednesday morning.
The 40,000-square-foot store, at 750 S. Ash Ave. on the ground floor of the $100 million mixed-use project called the Local, includes a bakery, full-service butcher, seafood department with a self-serve poke bar, hot and cold prepared food bars and an in-store Nékter Juice Bar.
The new Tempe Whole Foods also features an in-store bar and restaurant called On Ash.
Store Manager Stephen Rice said in a statement the bar is a “perfect place to hang out,” which will probably happen considering it's so close to Arizona State University’s campus and having hundreds of apartments built right above it.
