The Arizona community of Fountain Hills will join such far-flung locales as Malta, Costa Rica, and St. Lucia in the new Netflix series “Restaurants on the Edge.”
Owner Heidi Hake’s restaurant VU Bistro will be the first restaurant in the continental U.S. to be featured on the show in an episode that debuts May 8 on the streaming service.
The show features restaurateur Nick Liberato, who travels around the globe to help owners of scenically placed restaurants take advantage of local culture to boost their business.
VU Bistro, on Shea Boulevard just off Eagle Mountain Parkway, has a patio overlooking the Valley, and Hake said the views have been a draw for customers. But the coronavirus pandemic and resulting restaurant closures have taken a bite out of that allure.
