Walgreens said it's now administered more than 3 million COVID-19 vaccinations at long-term care facilities and at its U.S. retail stores.
The pharmacy giant (Nasdaq: WBA) also said that it's completed administering first dosages to long-term residents at its facilities that selected Walgreens as a vaccine provider.
“We have rapidly accelerated vaccine administration in long-term care facilities over the last month, and will continue to expand access to vaccines in our pharmacies as supply becomes available," said John Standley, president of Walgreens, in a statement.
Earlier this month, Walgreens was one of the drugstore chains that were selected by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to administer COVID-19 vaccinations under a federal program.
