PHOENIX — Arizona Department of Health Services Director Dr. Cara Christ held an informational session online Friday afternoon regarding the coronavirus vaccine.
In the press conference, Dr. Christ further outlined the order of people in the Group 1 category and what order they will get the vaccine.
Group 1A consists of medical workers and any hospital staff that has direct contact with COVID-19 patients.
Group 1B consists of essential workers including police officers, firefighters, teachers, and those in the food and agriculture sector.
Group 1C consists of those with at-risk medical conditions and people 65 or older.
Dr. Christ says the state expects the first doses of the vaccine to arrive in Arizona starting Monday, December 14. In total, Dr. Christ hopes to have 384,350 doses of the
vaccine in Arizona by the end of December.
