PHOENIX — JJ Anaya was just 23 years old when he passed away from COVID-19 in Phoenix.

His sisters said Anaya was the best brother they could've asked for. He recently had become an uncle.

"He was so inviting and easy to talk to," said his sister Darlene Anaya. "He was always joking, always laughing, he loved life."

Darlene said Anaya loved his job at Wells Fargo and was proud to be working downtown. He also loved his dog and his family. When their father died a few years ago, Anaya took on more responsibility to take care of his sisters and mother.

"He took care of his friends, he took care of his family, he took care of us three a lot," said Darlene.
