Hopi Tribe under 20-day lockdown amid rise in COVID-19 cases

The Hopi Tribe has announced they are now under a lockdown due to a rise in COVID-19 cases in the community.

As of March 18, the Hopi Tribe has been in a State of Emergency.

The reservation-wide lockdown will now be in effect from now to January 11. The reservation is under a curfew from 8 p.m. and 5 a.m.

"The number of daily new COVID-19 cases on the Hopi reservation have risen substantially; and demands more effective enforcement of and compliance with the critical public health and safety measures," in a statement by the tribe.
