PHOENIX — Phoenix police say an arrest has been made after a deadly drive-by shooting at a Family Dollar Store in Phoenix.

Police say on December 11, 22-year-old Deon Finnley entered the Family Dollar Store near 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road and made a purchase.

After exiting the store, Finnley allegedly got into the passenger’s seat of a vehicle and fired several shots toward the store as the vehicle drove away.

When police arrived on scene, they found a woman suffering from a graze wound outside of the store. She was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Once inside, officers located an additional victim, identified as 38-year-old Jorge Trigueros, with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Transaction history, surveillance video, and witnesses all helped police identify Finnley as the man who allegedly fired the gunshots.

Finnley was located and arrested Tuesday in Goodyear. Police say he admitted to being in the store, and in the vehicle, but said he was not the one who opened fire toward the store.

Police did not give any information on a motive in the shooting.

Finnley faces potential charges of first-degree murder and five counts of aggravated assault among others.
