MESA, AZ — A DUI and hit-and-run suspect was caught by DPS after driving on his car's rims on East Valley freeways.

In the early morning hours of December 29, DPS received calls of a vehicle riding on its rims on Interstate 10 near Sky Harbor Airport.

DPS determined that this was the same vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash near I-10 and State Route 51.

Court documents show that a Salt River police officer spotted the car and pursued it until it exited the freeway in Mesa.

DPS and Mesa police picked up the pursuit until the vehicle stopped near Longmore and Baseline Road.

There they arrested 25-year-old Shesthers Ken Panduro. DPS say his blood-alcohol content level was over three times the legal limit at .246.

Panduro reportedly had his license suspended six times and was currently an unlicensed driver.
He also had a warrant from Chandler for extreme DUI.

He's been charged with unlawful flight and aggravated DUI.
