MESA, AZ — A home healthcare worker has been accused of stealing $8,000 in jewelry from an elderly Mesa woman.

Mesa police report that on February 21, they were contacted by a 96-year-old woman who told them that Andrea Lynn Endischee, 42, stole several items of jewelry from her home.

Court records show that Endischee was working for Devoted Guardians as a home healthcare assistant.

She was assigned to help the victim’s elderly boyfriend, who recently had a stroke and was confined to a wheelchair.

Police say, while inside the home, Endischee stole two rings, two bracelets, and two necklaces, worth a total of $8,000.

Endischee reportedly pawned the items for $1,550 at three pawn shops.

Police recovered all the items, except for a ruby that was initially in one of the rings.

Endischee was located and arrested on February 27 near Higley and Ray roads.

She has been charged with burglary theft and trafficking in stolen property.
