LAKE HAVASU CITY, AZ — A California man was arrested after his boat crashed causing several people to be ejected into the water at Lake Havasu.
The Mohave County Sheriff's Office reports that late last night first responders from several agencies responded to multiple 911 calls of a boat crash on Lake Havasu.
Deputies reportedly determined that a 26-foot boat with eight people on board was traveling southeast on the lake when it struck a marked underwater peninsula. The collision caused everyone aboard to be ejected into the water.
Authorities say everyone was able to swim to shore. However, a man and a woman suffered "significant injuries" and needed to transported to a hospital.
Deputies reported that speed and alcohol were factors in the crash. The boat's operator, Levi Brown, 33, of Murrieta, California, was arrested for operating under the influence and reckless endangerment.
