MCSO: Drug-impaired man arrested in deadly July crash near Buckeye

A man impaired by meth was arrested after causing a deadly crossover crash killing a man near Buckeye.

MCSO reports that Tuesday morning, Edward Scott was arrested in connection to a deadly crossover crash that occurred on July 13 near 214th Avenue and Beloat Road near Buckeye. 

Investigators say Scott was driving a pickup truck around 4:30 a.m. when he crossed the center line and struck a Nissan Versa head-on. 

The driver of the Versa was pronounced dead at the scene. 

At the time, Scott reportedly told MCSO that he was tired, but a recently returned blood test confirms that methamphetamine was in his system at the time of the collision. 

Scott was arrested for DUI and manslaughter.
