Stolen silver bars and a coin collection were found by Salt River Police after a traffic stop.
The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office reports that on August 29 at about 5:30 a.m. Salt River Police pulled over a car for a traffic violation near the Loop 101 and McKellips Road. Inside they found 39-year-old John Glenn Burgdorf who was driving on a suspended license.
Police say prior to the car being towed, they were taking inventory of items inside the car when they found "several items of value" and identification of a man in Fountain Hills.
MCSO contacted the man who reported a burglary occurred at his home near Palisades and Shea boulevards earlier that morning. Police say they found silver bars, silver coins, jewelry and multiple coins sets worth about $5,000 in the car and the pockets of Burgdorf.
Another man in the car, 27-year-old Kyle Addison Galvan, was also arrested and was found to have outstanding warrants from Gilbert.
Both men have been charged with theft.
