Mesa police used Craigslist to find a man who was selling stolen golf clubs at a crazy discount.

Court records show that a man from Mesa received stolen golf clubs worth over $1,000 and sold them on Craigslist for $50.

Mesa police say a family member of 44-year-old Rollin Johnson Junior brought him a golf bag with golf clubs worth over $1,000. The items were stolen on March 26 from a home near Alma School Road and Main Street.

Police report that Johnson knew the clubs were stolen and where they were stolen from, but instead of returning the golf clubs or calling police he decided to sell them.

He put an ad on Craigslist and on April 5, he sold the $1,000 clubs for $50. The next day he got another response to his ad, this one from Mesa police.

Police went to his home and found other items reported stolen by the victim right outside the front door of the man's home.

Johnson has been charged with trafficking in stolen property.
