MESA, AZ — A man allegedly drove away with his victim hanging from his car after he tried to buy a gun with fake money.
Mesa police report that on May 12 a man selling a gun met Marlon Anthony McFadden, age 23, near Dobson and Broadway roads. He gave the handgun over to McFadden after receiving an envelope with bills inside.
When the victim inspected the bills, he reportedly saw that they were fake bills with the words "for motion picture use only." The victim caught up with McFadden who was driving away and managed to get himself halfway into the driver side window.
McFadden sped away for about a mile with the victim hanging from the vehicle, according to witnesses.
When McFadden stopped, the victim was able to pull himself completely into the car and retrieve his handgun.
Witnesses were able to provide police with the license plate number of the vehicle McFadden was driving.
Police caught up with McFadden two days later and arrested him.
According to police, McFadden has several felony convictions from California.
He has been charged with theft and endangerment.
