An "angry man" was taken into custody for allegedly breaking out windows on a Phoenix light rail train, causing more than $10,000 in damage.

Phoenix police report that on August 26 around noon, a man, later identified as 26-year-old Devin Michael Pittman, broke out several windows on a light rail train.

Police say officers recognized the suspect in the surveillance video as Pittman, a man who frequents a shelter near 15th Avenue and McDowell Road.

Police caught up with Pittman on August 30 and asked him about the damaged windows. Pittman allegedly admitted to breaking the windows saying he has "anger problems" and that a passenger on the train made comments about him that got him upset.

Police say he admitted to using a cup to break the train's windows while on the train and even after he got off.

Police report it will cost more than $10,000 to replace the windows.

Pittman was arrested for felony criminal damage.
