A delivery driver followed a hunch and helped police capture a burglar at a business in central Phoenix.
Phoenix police report that on September 30 they received a call of a burglary in progress, near 16th Street and Bethany Home Road.
Police say a delivery driver from Shamrock Foods heard that a set of work keys had been stolen. The driver went to the next delivery site on a hunch that the burglar may go there.
While waiting outside the business, he allegedly saw a man, later identified as 24-year-old Stephen Eusebio Perez, enter the business.
The witness reported to police that Perez was a former co-worker, who left the company on bad terms.
Upon his arrest, Perez reportedly told police that he saw the keys on the side of a delivery truck and took them.
He said it was a "spur of the moment" decision.
He was arrested on multiple burglary-related crimes.
