MESA, AZ — A cleaning company employee allegedly took jewelry from a woman who works for a private investigator.

In court documents filed last week, the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office filed charges against 25-year-old Jeannie Marie Nixdorf for burglary and theft.

In early March, Nixdorf was working for Cleaning Authority and cleaned the home of a woman in Mesa. The woman later noticed several pieces of jewelry missing from her home.

The total value of the stolen items is about $6,000.

The victim works for a private investigator who is a former police commander. Nixdorf agreed to meet with the victim and the private investigator.

In a recorded conversation with the investigator, Nixdorf allegedly admitted to stealing the jewelry.

The victim then took her evidence to Mesa police.

NIxdorf reportedly gave a similar admission to Mesa police when questioned by them.

She is scheduled for her initial appearance on July 5.
