PD: Drunk man gives police his old address, then breaks into his old home

Posted

A suspect accidentally provided police with his old address when they were dropping him off, and then he allegedly broke into the home with a woman and two children inside.

Court records show that police officers gave a ride home to a drunk man after he got into a minor fight, but he gave them the wrong address and kicked in the door of the wrong home.

Scottsdale police report that around midnight on November 27 they were called out to a fight. The victim of the assault did not want to press charges against 50-year-old Scott Alan Lamarsh, who police say was intoxicated at the time.

The police offered to give Lamarsh a ride home. Lamarsh reportedly told police that the address on his driver's license was current, but it was his old address.

Police took him to the home near Jackrabbit and Granite Reef roads. Police say they were called out to that address about an hour later for a burglary call.

It turns out the home was Lamarsh's old home, and he woke up the woman and two children inside when he kicked in the front door.

Police found Lamarsh taking a shower in the home when they arrived.

Lamarsh has been charged with criminal damage and trespassing.
