AVONDALE, AZ — A DUI suspect was arrested after crashing when a two-year-old stood up in the back seat of his car.
Avondale police report that on February 19, they responded to a business near Dysart Road and Van Buren Street after a car collided with a shopping cart corral.
Employees reported to police that they heard the car crash into the corral, then saw a small child running around the car. Police say the suspect, Irvin Alexander Bojorquez, 28, is the boyfriend of one of the employees, and the child is her two-year-old daughter.
When questioned, Bojorquez allegedly told police that he had two beers before driving over with the child. He reportedly told police that he crashed into the corral when the girl stood up on the back seat and distracted him.
Bojorquez was arrested for aggravated DUI with a child, criminal damage, and endangerment.
