Police say a man accused in multiple armed robberies in El Mirage and Surprise is now behind bars after robbing a pizza delivery driver.

On Nov.1 a man, later identified as 22-year-old Jaison Anthony Simpson, called for a pizza delivery to a home near Dysart and Thunderbird roads.

When the driver arrived at the home with the $75 meal, Simpson allegedly robbed him at gunpoint.

Police and Pizza Hut researched the phone number used for the order and tracked it to Simpson, who was positively identified by the driver.

Police became aware of armed robberies committed in Surprise on Oct. 27 and 31 by a suspect with a similar description. Witnesses also identified Simpson as the suspect in the armed robberies of a Chevron and Circle K gas station.

U.S. Marshall's began searching for Simpson and he was taken into custody. He is being held on a $100,000 bond on charges of aggravated assault and armed robbery.
