After years of mental and sexual abuse by a family acquaintance, a teenage girl stepped forward.
Glendale Police report that on December 12, 35-year-old Shann Lewis was arrested near 67th Avenue and Cactus Road on multiple counts of child molestation and aggravated assault.
The young girl confided in her school resource officer that she was afraid of Lewis because he was molesting her. She also said she was worried this was happening to other family members.
She also accused Lewis of putting a handgun in her mouth during one of his "violent episodes."
The girl detailed multiple accounts of molestation over several years, even journaling about the abuse. The last time he allegedly molested the girl was just three days before his arrest.
Police say they found a loaded rifle in his room, and a pair of pajamas belonging to the victim.
Lewis was arrested for sexual conduct with a minor, child molestation, aggravated assault, and being a prohibited possessor of a firearm.
