A wrong-way driver was found to be intoxicated with a child in her car in Glendale.

Glendale police report that on July 7, citizens reported a wrong-way driver on Glendale Avenue near 75th Avenue.

Police found Mercedes Trinidad Mendoza, 43, driving slowly in the wrong direction of traffic. A witness in a tow truck noticed Mendoza driving the wrong way and placed his truck in front of her, and put on his emergency flashers to warn oncoming vehicles.

Mendoza later went around the truck but was soon stopped by police.

Police saw a small boy unrestrained in a car seat in the back of the car.

Mendoza reportedly admitted that she shouldn’t have been driving. Police say she blew a .15, nearly twice the legal limit.

Mendoza has been charged with aggravated DUI.
