A husband captured and held a man who was sexually abusing his wife in their home recently, according to police.

Phoenix police report that on Tuesday night they responded to a home near 83rd Avenue and Indian School Road.

The woman was in the bathroom bathing her 2-year-old son when 38-year-old Leobardo Salas Campos allegedly entered the house through a screen door.

Court paperwork shows he went into the bathroom and sexually abused the woman. Her husband, who was outside of the house at the time, heard her screams and came running. The husband eventually captured Campo, using a belt to restrain him, until police arrived.

Police say Campos allegedly admitted to "not being able to control his sexual desires."

Police discovered that they had contact with Campos earlier that evening when he was trespassing and acting erratically at a church near 75th Avenue and Indian School Road.

Campos reportedly told police that he was there to repent for watching pornography.

The church requested his removal but refused to press charges.

Police say Campos is also a suspect in another recent burglary in the same neighborhood. He was found hiding in a trailer of a home that was burglarized.

Campos is being held on a $100,000 cash bond burglary, sexual abuse and attempted sexual assault.
