A Chandler man has been arrested after burglarizing eight Scottsdale businesses in four days.

Scottsdale police report that eight businesses in the area of Scottsdale and Doubletree Ranch roads were burglarized between August 21 and August 24.

Police say that the stolen items and damage to the buildings totaled over $11,000. The businesses were all in the same area of Scottsdale and Doubletree Ranch Roads, included five restaurants, a pet shop, a bicycle shop and a vape store.

Police report that in each burglary the suspect would smash a window and grab a cash register and business products and then leave the store.

On August 24, police got a break in the case when Paradise Valley police stopped a stolen vehicle and arrested a suspect who told them, "he would like to work off some of his charges." The suspect had information regarding a string of thefts in Scottsdale.

The suspect said he and 30-year-old Michael Alfaro shared a hotel room within walking distance of all the businesses that were robbed. He said Alfaro should be easy to find since he was wearing an ankle monitoring device because he was on felony release, for other crimes committed earlier this year.

Police were able to use his GPS tracker to place him at all the burglary locations.

Alfaro was arrested in Chandler on various burglary charges.
