SCOTTSDALE, AZ — A man has been arrested for moving a Scottsdale police car that was blocking a roadway.

Scottsdale police report that on February 2, around 11:45 p.m., an officer was assisting Scottsdale firefighters at the corner of Scottsdale and Camelback roads by using his patrol car to block traffic to the area.

While he was away from his patrol SUV, a man, later identified as Steven Michael Engberg, 31, entered the unit and drove away. Engberg was followed by two officers on foot and parked the car in a nearby parking lot.

Engberg reportedly told police that the SUV was blocking the roadway, so he moved it. Police say his blood alcohol level was .159.

Engberg, who is visiting from Washington state, has been charged with unlawful use of a vehicle.
