A Mesa man has been arrested after allegedly stealing high-end purses from stores around the Valley.
Chandler police report that on November 28, they arrested 55-year-old Kevin Mitchell for multiple department store thefts in Chandler and Glendale.
Police say Mitchell stole six 'Dooney and Burke' purses from Dillard's in Chandler Fashion Square on August 6. He returned to the same store a month later and allegedly took eight 'Michael Kors' purses.
The value of both thefts is over $3,700.
Police caught a break on November 12 when Mitchell went to steal $1,200 worth of jeans and polo shirts from the Dillard's Store at Arrowhead Towne Center in Glendale.
Surveillance cameras caught him getting into a car. Police tracked that vehicle to Mitchell.
Mitchell was already on pre-trial release for similar crimes and now faces additional charges of shoplifting and retail theft.
